Asian Pacific Endoscopy Cup

This initiative is to showcase interesting / rare cases related to GI Endoscopy.

General Information

  • Videos must be submitted online. No changes can be made after the submission deadline.
  • Videos that highlight unusual or challenging cases and those demonstrating novel techniques in the field of gastrointestinal endoscopy will be selected.
  • Videos should focus on enhancing physician education and not patient education.
  • Selection of videos is done by blinded, peer-review process.
  • Only one video from each country will generally be selected (no such limitation for e-poster presentation).
  • Remaining videos will be considered for e-poster presentation (if the author is willing to participate).


Video File Requirements

  • Length of the video – not more than 5 minutes.
  • Audio narration in English must be included in the production for review purposes (during presentation, the presenting author will be expected to provide narration, as the background audio will not be played).
  • Acceptable video formats - .mov, .mpg, and .mp4 (e.g., QuickTime, Real Player, Microsoft Windows Media Player, VLC media Player).
  • File size may not exceed 500 MB. Recommended pixels: 1920 x 1080 (square pixel ratio) or 1280 x 720 (square pixel ratio), both for 16:9 aspect ratio.
  • Bit Rate: 5 Mbps (for 720) or 10 Mbps (for 1080). Videos should not use special codecs (coders/decoders).


Video Production Requirements

  • Video abstracts will not be considered if they have been previously submitted to international meetings or published in any journal.
  • Videos should not contain any patient identification information, physician names, medical record numbers, etc.
  • No video may contain any advertising, corporate logo, trade name, or product-group message of an ACCME-defined commercial interest.
  • Do not include any copyrighted information (images, videos, photos, etc.) without written consent from the original source of the copyrighted work.


Oral Presentation at the Asian Pacific Endoscopy Cup

  • Presenting authors MUST register for the APDW 2019 by 31st August 2019.
  • Make a PPT containing 5 slides which gives the outline of video content and few learning objectives.
  • Selected video will be communicated to the author by 31st July 2019
  • Author should fill the annexure form and upload the video + annexure + PPT separately.
  • Selected videos must be narrated by an author who speaks and understands English.
  • Time limit – 5 minutes for presentation and 2 minutes for Q and A by judges.
  • Marks will be given for indication of the procedure, presentation skills, quality of video, how unusual or challenging the procedure is, etc.
  • Abstract submission period – 1st January to 30th May 2019.
  • Winners will be rewarded during the conference.

  • Disclosures / conflict of interest- should be revealed by the submitting author.
  • Refusal to disclose relevant financial relationships for any author(s) will result in disqualification of the author(s) from participation in this activity.
  • The presenting author may not be an employee of a commercial interest.
  • Commercial interest - any entity producing, marketing, re-selling, or distributing health care goods or services, consumed by, or used on, patients.
  • The rules/instructions might change in rare instances. Same will be updated on the website.
